Head over to on of the two yahoo helix groups.   I really dought this but any chance of one of the old hoses being collapsed inside???   it's happen to me on cars before buying a replacement thermostat that the new one is bad.    leave me wondering if there is something really stuck in the system.   The only time I ve ever since the like is in a car with a bad thermostat.     A bad head gasket means the there going to be water i the old with bubbles  .   On goldwing I ve seen the eletirical  themal switches go bad.   I think there is two.        But as I said your best bet is on of the 2 helix groups on yahoo.com

one more thing and any auto place can do it for you.  Pressure test you system.   can tell if there is leaks in the system etc.   They just take the cap off and stick this tool in it's place and pump it up.
